New Zealand won by 9 wickets against Sri Lanka in their 1st ODI match as i predicted in my previous opinion but the fact is, it's surprising when A good team like Sri Lanka scored only 178-10 runs and lost all their wickets within 44 overs. What a pity!! I didn't expected such poor batting performance from SL team where they lost four wickets at 23-4 runs. Avishka Fernando(56) was the one who afford to scored a half century. Wanindu Hasaranga and Janith Liyanage played avarage from their position. While New Zealand bowler Matt Henry hunted four wickets alone. Apart from that, NZ did amazing beginning. Although Rachin Ravindra(45) lost wicket before done his half century and Mark Chapman(29) took his position alone with Will Young(*90) who showed legendary performance ever although i laugh, the unfortunate moment for Will Young who missed his century due to lack of lower targeted runs set by SL but it was a enjoyable moment for NZ for such amazing achievement
New Zealand easily beat Sri Lanka by 9 wickets in their first ODI match. Sri Lanka performance was very disappointing scoring only 178 runs and losing all their wickets in just 44 overs. Avishka Fernando was only one who played well scoring 50 runs while Wanindu Hasaranga and Janith Liyanage played okay. Matt Henry from New Zealand took 4 wickets which helped limit Sri Lanka score. New Zealand then easily chased target. Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman contributed some useful runs. Unfortunately Young missed scoring 100 runs because Sri Lanka target was too low. Overall it was big win for New Zealand.
In the first ODI match of New Zealand vs Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka batted really very disappointingly, they should have focused more on their batting. Sri Lankan batsmen should have batted responsibly and at least tried to play 50 overs. Due to their poor batting, the T20 series was lost, so they must bat responsibly to win the ODI series. Sri Lanka bowling line up is quite good so batsmen need to perform well to win the match against New Zealand. In the first ODI, New Zealand's bowlers bowled brilliantly to bowl out Sri Lanka for just 177 runs. Matt Henry bowled brilliantly and took four wickets alone. Nathan Smith and Jacob Duffy took two wickets each. Batting very responsibly in the target of 178 runs given by Sri Lanka, the New Zealand  easily won against Sri Lanka.
