Real Madrid at this moment knows that every point counts in their quest to progress to the next round of the competition? A home game against Salsburg I think will be an easy one for Carlo Ancelotti's men to get all three points. The quality of players at Real Madrid can't be matched by that of Salsburg, and now that Real Madrid knows they might fail to progress to the knockout stages of the competition, you should expect nothing but their very best in that game. My prediction is that Real Madrid will win that game as well as register 2+ goals.
Salzburg is an opponent that should be easy, but not Brest. Salzburg has clearly played badly in their last 6 matches in the Champions League, but Brest has impressed with their 4 wins. Brest is in 7th place and they are very motivated to maintain it so that their chances of qualifying for the round of 16 are greater, but I am sure they will find it difficult to win that match against Real Madrid.
I can say 3 points from Salzburg is easy, but I have doubts about the possibility of 3 points when they play Brest. Real Madrid really needs this win to advance to the playoffs, but an extra 3 points might also help, although it depends on the results of the matches of several other teams. We'll see, but I'm sure Real Madrid will be in the last 16 this season in the best case scenario.
Yes, Salzburg should be an easy opponent for Real Madrid, but I think Real Madrid will win this match and they will be playing at home in Bernabeu, so they are definitely the favorites in this match.
Brest is surprising and their results in UCL are quite good, but in all the matches Brest is not so good and not so consistent, but will be a tough opponent for Real Madrid as you said. Brest will maintain their position and maybe focus more on UCL, and what we have to know is Real Madrid is not good at the beginning but Real Madrid will come back when it comes to crucial rounds and their mentality still has a big influence on the opposing team and also always makes great comebacks which makes Real Madrid always advance from one round to another even to the final and they will definitely win both.
Finally someone speaks the truth here as almost everybody believes the game against Brest would be as easy as a walk with the dog. It is not going to be easy I think. Yes it is true that on average Brest would lose more games against Real Madrid than they would win, but this is a one game situation and I think anything is possible because as you already pointed out, Brest has had some good results in the Champions League.
The good thing for Real Madrid is that they play the next game at home against Salzburg an I agree that this should be a win and then they are at least safe in the play-off rounds. Theoretically, if Real Madrid wins both games I think it could be enough to get into the top . It is going to be close and of course depends on all the results of the other teams, but 15 points could be sufficient if they are able to push their goal difference by a bit as that could be decisive.
Brest has a unique chance to qualify for the round of 16 and not go through play-offs and I think everyone can imagine how much Brest will push for that. They are not waiting at home to get easily beaten by Real Madrid because they are the bigger name on paper.
