What do you think could be the reasons that they are still gambling though?
It could be that they want to still engage themselves and be as active as they can and they can do it through gambling? Or somewhat of a mind exercise for them?

Most of the old people who are still actively gambling even though they are having a hard time are mostly bored at home and want to find an activity that can help them to spend time. We can't blame them for being like that, because they are also bored and have no friends to talk to, and maybe gambling is their way to spend time. Maybe some people see this as wrong, but each person is in a different situation, as long as they still have money for it they can do what they want to do.
Not all, only those who have build their money and generational wealth has the privilege to play in a casino just because they are bored at home or they are simply have a lot of money and so they buy their entertainment in a land base casinos and it doesn't matter how much money they are going to win or lose.
But for those who don't have the money, maybe they can still have to work through their old age. I witnessed some older people in the province and still very much active in the farms and I just admire that they are still moving as it old age has nothing to do with them. So there is balance between the rich and the poor and they can do their mind exercise and physically with or without money, just saying.
