You are right with your point of view. The business will usually study the human desires and develop a model based on it. If there is addiction (addiction can be termed as a extreme need of something that provides entertainment), the business will develop strategies to provide solutions to fulfill their needs.

All the industries work like this whether it be food industry or even Alcohol and Tobacco related products, they all exploit the addiction to run their business. If the people don't have high desires why would they spend money on gambling ?

"Stake's Philosophy: Exploiting Addiction and Calling It Strategy"

@virasog: You’re describing exploitation as if it’s some noble pursuit, but let’s not dress up predatory tactics in corporate jargon. There’s a colossal difference between industries that fulfill legitimate needs and those that prey on vulnerabilities for profit.

1. Food Industry: Meets a basic human need. Overeating is a choice, but food itself is essential.
2. Alcohol/Tobacco: Controversial, yes, but heavily regulated in most countries to minimize harm.
3. Gambling (Stake’s Way): Actively designs systems to exploit addiction, misleads users with rigged games, manipulative bonuses, and illegal payment methods. It thrives on the ruin of lives, not just fulfilling "desires."

The argument that “people wouldn’t gamble without high desires” ignores how companies like Stake weaponize those desires. They aren’t just fulfilling needs; they’re creating dependencies and profiting from destruction. Let’s not confuse this with legitimate business—it’s exploitation, pure and simple.
