I think you a little bit underestimate Newcastle and if you look at the last games of Newcastle, you will see that the last 7 matches Newcastle won, and among the teams that Newcastle beat were Tottenham and Manchester United and Aston Villa and now Arsenal.
So if you look at the statistics, Newcastle should have been the favorite, because they have more wins than Arsenal, besides Isak has been playing at a great level lately and can not only create chances for teammates, but also score himself.
People disrespect Newcastle a lot and I say this is a team that to me aside Liverpool and Nottingham Forest have been the most inform team for the past 8 matches now, believe me when I say on this form I see Newcastle going toe to toe with any team in the premier league right now. Newcastle under this manager are found of playing low block football and hitting on counter, they have the players for that and that’s why they can do that. Last season and the beginning of this season they had their entire defense out injured with Isak their pointed man having lots of injury crisis then but this time around with the likes of Fabian Schar, Dan Burn and Lewis Hall all fit and on top of their game I think any team coming to defeat them will most definitely have to be on top of their game. It wasn’t surprising seeing them winning against Arsenal yesterday.
The success of holding Liverpool at Anfield must really be able to motivate United players to immediately rise in the next matches. In addition, Amorim must also be able to convince the Red Devils owner to add some new ammunition in this transfer window. I am sure Manchester United will rise again and achieve the target to be in the top competition of the standings at least they must be able to finish in the Europa League zone.
I think we all saw a little glimpse at what Ruben Amorim is trying to replicate at Manchester United, 3-4-3 when attacking and a 5-3-2 when defending, for me the game would have been perfect had Manchester United won. But still it is a good game that Manchester United can actually pick from but guess what you might be watching play like a championship club in the next game. As for new players I don’t see it happening now except maybe a player leaves, Manchester United are looking at sorting out contract issues for players first before going for new one
