If there is potential for financial gains, people will be forced to bet on it despite of their non-interest to the game. Gambling is more than profits than entertainment alone, so gamblers will still rush to bet even if their personal interest for the game is not seen. Also, peer pressure could be another reason. Since gambling is more on a social event, then it's not surprising that you will gain social influence, even if it means not having genuine interest on the game itself.
Very true. Gambling for most people is way beyond just entertainment especially as financial gains are attached to it. I can bet over 80 percent of people gambling today are not doing it just for the sake of the entertainment alone but the benefit they get monetarily. If it was just the entertainment without the money attached, not many of gamblers or bettors will be seen betting today. Peer pressure is really a factor that have affected an average human being today, it has also made some friends to invite others into gambling mischievously. I've seen a situation where a big man son was initiated by friends into gambling for the sake of the finance he has within his purview.
