Second match of ODI series between New Zealand vs Sri Lanka which played at Hamilton and reduced to 37 overs due to rain having easy win for the Black Caps after winning toss Sri Lanka decided to bowl first but New Zealand starting with aggressive approach which helps them for having good target on board through Rachin Ravindra 79 from 63 balls and Mark Chapman 62 from 52 were main architected of their inning we have hat-trick for the Sri Lankan Maheesh Theekshana who ended 4 for 44 from his 8 overs.
Like the T20 series, Sri Lanka lost the ODI series. We saw Sri Lanka's weak batting in the T20 series as well. As a result, New Zealand won the first two matches of the T20 series. However, Sri Lanka's batsmen batted well in the last match and won.
Sri Lanka's batsmen could not make any advantage in the ODI series. Sri Lanka gave a target of only 179 runs in the first match. And in the second match, despite batting for a target of 256 runs in 37 overs, Sri Lanka lost by a big margin. In today's match, Sri Lanka scored only 142 runs in 30.2 overs. Except for Kamindu Mendis, no other batsman could bat well. Although they did well in the home series, the batting of Sri Lanka's batsmen on foreign pitches is very weak.
There is nothing to be disappointed about, most of the teams perform poorly on foreign pitches. Even then, it must be admitted that Sri Lanka, as an experienced team, did worse than expected. It is a real shame for the Sri Lankan team that the Sri Lankan team lost the match by a big margin against New Zealand. In my opinion, the Sri Lankan team players should have played with a lot of awareness. If the Sri Lankan team players could have played a conscious game, then maybe the Sri Lankan team would not have been defeated by such a margin.
