What is certain is that gamblers who play on these casino platforms provide income to the platform, and the rest they get income from partnerships with game providers, bonuses and loyalty (online casinos), food and beverage sales and various entertainment offerings (specifically land-based casinos). So indeed casinos maximize their income through various income opportunities that they can get from their business.

I'm just asking out of curiosity to know if there are fewer gambling addicts in the industry; will we still be seeing the kind of massive numbers of new casinos emerging every now and then, or will the old and reputable ones just upgrade to suit the demand of the customers?

According to the rules of business, if the number of customers increases, then the industry is growing and there are opportunities that can be taken. However, if the number of customers decreases, then there will be many businesses that will close or some will renew their services to be able to meet customer demand and maintain their services. So referring to that, if the gamblers decrease, then the number of casinos that will open will be less and the only ones who survive in the market are those who renew their services and maintain their reputation.
