Both are difficult in my opinion, where self-control to not continue playing is very difficult, where when chasing long-term wins I personally sometimes forget the time and how much money I have wasted, and what's worse is that the wins are sometimes not comparable to what has been spent.
It's also called gambling - you shouldn't chase the winnings especially when the capital spent is bigger than the winnings, however, control is more important so that you can limit excessive gambling sessions.
Sometimes if gamblers are not disciplined then they will spend more money on gambling so this is what we have to keep from going overboard, I know there are some gamblers who chase their losses but in the end lose more than return.
So gambling should really be enjoyed with cold money should not be more than your income.
