I have sold off the St.Petersburg Bitcoin Bowl Coin that was made by Casascius. I don’t believe it was ever pictured on this thread, nor does it hold actual BTC, but I wanted to update anyone that may be watching this thread. The brass coins are still available for sale if anyone wants them individually. Happy coining!
Hi OG...anyone know the last known sale price for the St. Pete coin?
I had an auction in May for one on here... went for 0.036 btc which was about $2400 at the time of sale
Mine sold on June 5th of 2024 for 0.0363 BTC, which was $2,500 at the time of sale. Seems like that is about the going rate to expect. Perhaps a little higher in USD terms and lower in BTC terms compared to today's price. I think a fair expectation would be to pay somewhere between 0.023 BTC and 0.036 BTC for one today. Who knows though. Not a ton of these were produced. It may be hard to find one in collector condition these days.
This is helpful...thanks much. Not bad considering they originally cost ~$200 I believe, and only 2000 produced according to Mike (SOURCE:

Kind of depends who you ask whether that is bad or not. Some people irrationally expect things they buy with Bitcoin to outpace Bitcoin’s future gains (even though nothing will), otherwise they call it a scam. For the rest of the world though, yes, this was a nice return on such a cheap item to purchase upon its release. Still, Bitcoin would have been a more profitable buy.
Absolutely...as an investment and hedge, not sure anything will outpace
BTC against fiat...and at some point, fiat valuation won't matter anymore once the economy moves to the Bitcoin Standard. From a collector's perspective, it's interesting to see these cool
BTC-related pieces appreciated by the market. Been out of the loop for a few years...have other high-level collectibles of note emerged at the top of the market? The Allen & Ginter trading cards seemed promising. Anything other cool items you all like? Guessing Casascius are still the benchmark collectible...
