I do not completely agree with you; trying our new strategy could be for the sake of a better option that works more than the one you used before, which is correct, but people also try out new options based on trying to get experience of how that works, not just because their old one doesn't work well for them but because they want to experience something new, and there is also no harm in trying out new things and sometimes comparing them with another.
