Looks like Sri Lanka managed to avoid a whitewash in a convincing manner. NZ were clearly overdependent on Ravindra and Chapman in the batting department while their bowling department performed really well overall.

Fernando, Theekshana and Malinga bowled well in this match, but Theekshana was their best bowler in this series in my opinion.

Sri Lanka set a target of 290 runs for New Zealand in this match, which was a big target for New Zealand. However, it was never imagined that New Zealand would lose by such a margin. Despite winning the previous two matches by huge margins, New Zealand lost by 140 runs in this match, the top batsmen were easily dismissed, especially the opening batsmen. The New Zealand team had a poor performance in both bowling and batting.

In the third match, Sri Lanka's game changed so much that they were on the verge of victory, New Zealand failed to meet the target of 290 runs. It was quite dramatic that a team like New Zealand would lose by such a huge margin of 140 runs, where they had won two matches by big margins. However, since New Zealand won the ODI series, the series result was also good 2/1. Sri Lanka was also very happy that they did not have to lose the last match and saved themselves from a whitewash.
