You know what? how about to eliminate the miner control over the bonus reward altogether?
for example, blocks: 100, 101, 102:
The miner address of block 100 will be rewarded by block 102 based on the nonce / hash of block 101.
(jumping one more block for full obscurity)
The bonus reward will be a complete surprise...
