The government doesn't help much

Too early to tell, though considering Trump is going to become the president of the USA in a few days, I would not be surprised if the federal government did not end up helping those who lost their homes at all. Trump probably has spite against California for being a quite blue state.
By the way, I have seen some people talking about the reason firefighters in California are being allegedly so ineffective is due to the DEI policies being applied even within the ranks of those firefighters departments. They would not be hiring people according to their skills to get the job done, but rather based on other characteristics (like their race/ethnic group).
It is information I would need to check myself, but if it is true then California has a big institutional problem and they are allowing incorrect policies to literally destroy their response capabilities against disasters like these ones ...
