I was reflecting on what type of information might have been included with that wallet.dat file when you initially discovered and downloaded it. Even if you can successfully load the wallet and see the Bitcoin addresses contained in it you won’t be able to access or move the bitcoins stored in those addresses. The reason is that the wallet is encrypted and without the corresponding password the funds remain inaccessible. This encryption acts as a safeguard ensuring that only the rightful owner with the correct credentials can make transactions.
Thank you very much for your serious response, I will try to move the funds to my personal wallet to see if it asks for a password, can you tell me if there are legal risks in trying to move the funds? thank you so much
