If GRP is still running, then you should be able to point to some blockchain explorer?!

I can point probably using google to find on a free open source explorer such as Abe or whatever, which since decentalisation is also a common feature desired in crypto ought to satisfy folks rather than depending on some centralised websderver one does not oneself control to tell you about the blocks on your hard drive, but is that good encouragement toward decentralision?

Such chains are intended that one runs node oneself, so while installing one's node installing a black explorer if one chooses is really up to each individual. Cheesy

There are services some of the other chains pay yearly or whatever to run an explorer for them, haven't looked at or near the end of groupcoin's thread lately to see if there are any posts about anyone having done so lately.

One's coin daemon can show on any block one chooses, right? I suppose main thing I have ever gone to a third party block explorer is as a way to ask if someone else besies me is on a certain block number, and if not consider whether my chain or the explorer's needs adjusting.

Just because anyone who considers an explorer important hasn't chosen to announce theirs nor maybe leave it accessible from out on the internet doesn't mean there aren't any though, it just means we don't currently know of any.

Anyone is welcome to get one of the explorer as a service sites to throw one up for them if they feel they need one.

Not sure what it has to do with aliveness though other than it might help give the thing a more-live look-and-feel. Smiley

All exchanges are in effect using tokens, that is, IOUs at the actual exchange page as it were.

The balances they show you having are just IOU values.

Aren't most DEXs like Stellar in that they trade tokens representing the real assets mentioned rather than directly using the blockchains of the pairs of assets traded?

I would really like though to find a real DEX, where one can atomically swap between blockchains such as GRP's and GRIN's without having to have some custodian custody and maybe tokenise them for the purpose of the trading.
