Couple of days back BCCI announced the squad champions trophy:

Let's see the team combination and is this team good enough to come up with a trophy.
Lot of people expressed anger towards making Gill as VC which is questionable and kind of implying that he is going to be the preferred opener over the inform batter Jaiswal, why Gill is given special treatment when he is not in great form.
Middle order is decent so there's no concern there but why again 4 spinners in the squad, last time in WC too they gone with same combination and didn't use chahal. The main thing is we only got 3 frontline fast bowlers - Shami and Bumrah is coming from injury so we can't sure about their fitness towards the tournament so if something happens then we will be in danger.
Handing over T-20 captaincy and ODI VC to SKY and Gill respectively seems like a cutting Hardik to size. Mind you, Hardik was VC in winning the T-20 WC campaign and for some reason, SKY got the captaincy. Gill has impressive numbers in the ODI so I have no problem with him in the opening slot but becoming VC, oh well something else is going on here. I thought the same about the lack of a seam bowling option but at the same time, assumed that it's because our fixtures are in UAE and not SENA.
