Wolves gave a tough fight in the first half and they were able to match Chelsea's game which continued to press, but entering the second half Chelsea's performance was much better and they started to find their rhythm and managed to secure full points. A win in this match is very important because Chelsea moved back up to fourth place and are now four points behind Nottingham Forest and Arsenal because Chelsea lost momentum in maintaining the positive trend in the previous five games. Manchester City are below Chelsea so there will be tighter competition and Chelsea must perform better if they don't want to be replaced by Manchester City in fourth place.
Chelsea really showed a pure and classic performance against Wolverhampton yesterday. That win was very necessary to boost their morale in the pursuant of top four after being relent in their previous matches. However, is this performance enough to get them three points at Etihad in their next game? Well, I don't think that performance was convincing enough for them to walk away with three points against Manchester City who are finally becoming better.
Imagine missing those precious chances and Sanchez committing those awful errors against Manchester City. On the other hand, it was another pathetic performance from Wolverhampton and it's unfortunate they're almost getting relegated. Unless something change radically, they'll continue to go down because they are getting used to failure in defending.
