It is not because of privacy, but mainly because of the possibility of earning huge profits at a short period of time. That's actually the reason why many people are being attracted on this market. The investment potential is the main factor why people are taking a look at this currency. They thought it is quite easy to earn high profits but there's more than meets the eyes in this market.
The most reason's rich people ventured into bitcoin is because of it's high privacy, its not all alone profit making, because I know very well that bitcoin investment, has to do with risk and anyone who into it because of instant profit, I don't think that person knows about bitcoin, because bitcoin has disappointed different people that has such mindset of investing in Bitcoin because fast profit, we all know that the price of bitcoin is unpredictable, and you can invest now and within 1 day of investment the market collapse or crash, so it has been the method of bitcoin.
If a person, rich or not, understands what Bitcoin upholds and what they need to do to keep their security in check (not messing with centralized entities, etc), - they would have a proper mindset about Bitcoin.
