It's more evident though in crypto space or some memecoins that just got out, and then word of mouth, spread like a wildfire and then the pump and dump. That's why it's very easy to manipulate their price and make money out of those who blindly trust those so called "insider information".
There is no such thing as insider information when it comes to the cryptocurrency market. If someone approaches someone and tells them that a certain coin or a token is going to get pumped, they are most likely in on it and are going to get a portion of the profits the project creators are going to get when they dump their stash on their investors because that is what these pump-and-dump projects do, and people who promote them are a part of the evil plans they make to trap innocent investors.
There are also groups on messaging platforms such as Telegram where certain people promote pump-and-dump tokens and ask their members or followers to invest with them so that they can make profit, but the dark reality is that only those who are giving instructions are the ones who make profit on these things and other investors only incur losses. Newbies should be careful and stay away from such schemes as they are mostly scams and give you nothing in return.
