This footballer in the Italian Serie A could face a four-year ban from all football competitions for his alleged involvement in match fixing. It is not just him alone, the Diego Giordano, a 40-year-old pizzeria owner in Udine could also face sanctions.

How did the match fixing happen? The player who is a goalie was booked for time-wasting in the 64th minute during one of the games in March 2024.  Time wasting is a type of match fixing in addition to those from the ref and other officials.

Match fixing happens everywhere but it is only easier to detect in the smaller leagues

What measure was taking that accurately shows that the intention for the delay held was as a result of match fixing, because I've witnessed on several occasions whereby players will be wasting time for unnecessary things while on the bid to waste the time, and once the ref discover on such act, they quickly take on action to either issue a yellow card or any other deserving type, i don't want to believe that a seriously minded payer will be playing over his career all because of his gambling bet.
I think that it was bet on the match event like "Yellow card for the time wasting for goalkeeper on 64th minute."  So it is not about fixed matches but about betting on some event for player in the squad. It is prohibited for professional players.
Waste of time as it - it is just a trick, that used in lots of games. I think that it isn`t about fixed matches.
