Losing wagers was also part of the system, it's no surprise to watch elite teams recording defeats, so it's more simpler to focused on other leagues other than UEFA Champions League. Time for any team anticipating in UCL to become consistent and disciplined for upcoming UCL matches.
I'm not sure I get your point. Are you suggesting that teams should focus on their domestic league if they fail to get enough points to finish inside the top 24 by the 6th game for the UCL or do you believe teams need more consistency and focus with the new UCL format?

That being said, I just read that the Feyenoord coach position is still in danger despite winning against Bayern and likely going to the knockout round of the Champions League. Looks like, for some boards, a great Champions League run is not enough to secure the manager position. I wonder if it's a new thing or if it's always been like that for clubs in Eredivisie or other leagues.
