It was in the past that we do use past record to predict the future, but this season proved everyone wrong that past history doesn't guarantee future results. I see Chelsea as the favorite in this match, because City have lost form and are unpredictable when playing with big clubs. Imagine how they lost their only chance of qualifying to the round of 16 to PSG, despite on two goals lead.
yes now it has been proven that past records seem to be less valid now and there is no guarantee that a club was good last season but of course it will not necessarily be good next season. but for some reason many people always look at past records including me but yes I also admit this season there seem to be many changes that have occurred in EPL clubs some have improved and have good performance. but there are also those whose performance has decreased.
indeed Chelsea deserves to be favored compared to Man city but if you look at their last match in the Premier League Man city successfully against Ipswich town of course it is very convincing that city has good performance because it is certainly not easy to score that many goals even though the team they are playing against is a team in the relegation zone. yes in the UCL Man city did waste a good opportunity which made them lose 3 points from PSG. honestly if I personally sometimes feel confused when Chelsea plays against Man city is it possible that the match will end in a draw? yes because it is possible that Pep Guardiola has improved the abilities of the Man city players.
