Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. You must wait a long time to succeed from Bitcoin. If you ask Bitcoin to give you quick profits like Altcoins, then you will be wrong. Because Altcoins are like gambling. It is absolutely impossible to say when it will happen. You may win from Altcoins at some point but your money is at risk. Here the chances of losing your money are higher. In the long run, it may not give you a big benefit or you may lose everything.
But the chances of you losing from Bitcoin in the long run are very low. I think Bitcoin is the only digital currency from which the chances of getting profit are very high for long-term investment. All types of investments have risks but it is less or more. It is better to invest in Bitcoin than to face the risk of losing money by investing in other digital currencies in the long run. The chances of losing are slightly lower here.
I don't think I will ever consider Bitcoin to be a risky investment because long-term investors never lose money. Those who seem to have lost money on Bitcoin investments are those who made short-term investments, and you can never see someone who is an expert in Bitcoin investing make short-term investments. These people are either ignorant about Bitcoin investing or think it's an easy way to make money.
It is very true that long term investment hardly ends in losses if it is the right asset, but you need to understand that no investment is risk free, and Bitcoin is not and exception, because we live in a world possibilities, everything is possible, nothing is promised, so while investing in Bitcoin, it's best you have it at the back of your mind that Bitcoin investment is actually risky as every other investment out there.
We that are investing in it are doing it because of the huge potential it carries, not that we are very certain of tomorrow or the future.
So in essence of what am trying to say is that you should have it at the back of your mind that Bitcoin investment is actually risky, because of the uncertainty of our today's society, but it huge potential is what has spur us to take the risk of investing in it regardless of what haters are saying about it.
