If I were in the daughter's shoes I could never trust anybody ever again, not even my future partner.
Besides that, just think what if the daughter starts doing the same things when she grows up.
It's like teaching your children the wrong things because they learn only from their elders.
I don't think that this is the best decision moving forward. Not trusting anybody? That could backfire on you along the way, and it might cause trouble for you.

The best approach for this one is that learn to determine which of the people around you are considered "trustworthy" and which are not. Learn to know them and their background as well then decide from there, and not to untrust them. You're thinking the pessimistic way, but I don't think that it's the correct way to approach the problem. As for the growing up part, it will also depend on the environment of the daughter. If she's being around thieves, then she will be one as well. If she will be surrounded with good people, then she will never be one.

Whatever the case is, what did the father did must not cause you as a daughter to not trust anybody at all. At the end of the day, you will still need the help of other people and not trusting them will be a hindrance.
