The problem is when gamblers perceive gambling as investment instead of plain fun. Then they would perceive losses as price for fun they had while playing instead of lost investment.

If they proceed with gambling after losing money in order to recover the losses they are already in losing spiral in the game that is rigged against them.
So what are you trying to say in the above bolded paragraph? Are you trying to say it’s better to see gambling as a form of investment or rather a form of entertainment, because your statement here is kinda confusing and people might get the wrong impression or idea from what you just said above.

Gambling when considered as an investment can be pretty dangerous since it could result to taking certain inappropriate risks, and every loss could be seen as a loss of investment or maybe a step further to reaping the profits of their investment, this could potentially lead to excessive gambling in an attempt to recover all the lost funds.
