Many considers gambling as fun and entrainment with a view to relaxing and getting yourself busy whiling away time but critically looking at what gambling entails where money is used in having this fun by way of betting on events that are highly uncertain and the probability of you making return on the money that you use in gambling is not sure so this lead me to the question is gambling really having fun and entrainment because if it's the cost of this fun is really huge and it's really not worth it

Your mindset is on making money first, and the entertainment side is only secondary, and most of the time you will be happy if you make money; it should be the other way around.
You treat it as a form of entertainment with a chance to make money if opportunity presents itself; it's not really that costly if you play money with allocated money and not your whole savings.
Treat gambling like you are going to watch your favorite concert or watching a movie and eating in the fast food; these two do not have an expectation of return financially but on the mental well being.
