Addiction is a mental stage where an individual can not control his feelings for something be they positive or negative, and for anyone to be called a gambling addict means such a person has an uncontrollable urge to gamble and seeking medical help is the best step to curing addiction, and anyone can get addicted both the vulnerable and those that have excess cash in possession.
I don't agree to the assumption of some people who say that because of the availability of online cryptocurrency gambling sites is the reason for increasing gambling addiction, I don't think that accusation is true and we can prove it if we want to.

I don't think that it's because of cryptocurrency that addiction is on the high side, because in my country gamblers hardly gamble with crypto but with fiat. Youths these days, are seeing gambling as a means to get rich quick which is one of the major reason of the high rate of gamblers in the society. When you are gambling for profit, addiction will always knock on your door, and you will let it in.
