Real Madrid has a Champions League match against Manchester City, in fact Manchester City has no chance of doing very well against Real Madrid in that match. Manchester City had a poor performance against Arsenal in the Premier League and if they go to Real Madrid with this performance I think they will have nothing but a big defeat there. The matches between Manchester City and Real Madrid in the previous two seasons have been much more interesting and when Real Madrid won one match Manchester City won the other but this season is unlikely to happen.
Manchester City may have to end their Champions League journey against Real Madrid as they cannot defeat Real Madrid. Most people will no doubt bet on Real Madrid in the match between Manchester City vs Real Madrid and I might do the same.
In history of Champions League, Real Madrid is a most successful club with 15 titles, and Manchester City has only 1 title.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Champions_LeagueComparing Real Madrid and Manchester City in their past records and titles is very skewed to Real Madrid that is undoubtful a more succesful club than Manchester City.
Now comparing them in this season only, and in their forms recently, in my opinion Real Madrid are better than Manchester City too. The playoff draw result brings them together in a biggest clash in playoff stage, but with a big defeat of Manchester City by Arsenal in Premier League, Real Madrid can feel very happy and they actually see better chance to win this playoff pair eventually.
This won't count anything. You can have a look at the past and check their Champions League history, but it doesn't help you a lot with any projections you may want to make. Manchester City has joined the strongest competition in the Champions League long after Real Madrid was in it for decades. It is correct that recently Real Madrid in regards to the number of titles was stronger than anyone else, but all of those titles have been so close. It could have gone either way in almost all of the games. I think any different view on the matter ignores reality.
Manchester City still has a reasonable chance here although they lack the right condition, but in these setups when the Champions League is on the line, sometimes teams can instantly change for the better and evoke a new team spirit and hype themselves up during the game especially when they realize that something is possible.
If Manchester City concedes an early goal, I am not sure how they would be able to cope with that.
