I recently watched a new episode of a program about dependent and codependent people. And they talked about how far a person can go in his lies so that people around him will take pity on him and give him money.
They are ready to lie and make up stories about how they are being persecuted by bandits or tax authorities, and this lie shows how much such a dependent person does not respect his family and people around him. For him, bets and casinos are much more important than relationships with people around him.
I see and read such stories constantly in which an addicted player drags down several people around him, who cling to him, trying to save him with good intentions. But where was this player when he made another bet, I don’t think about my loved ones and family. If earlier I treated such players with great loyalty and sympathy, now my opinion has changed to the opposite. I don’t want to sympathize with them, but only with codependent people, that’s who I really feel sorry for, they sacrifice themselves because of their kindness.
