I saw a news today about a person who decided to end his life after losing around 150K in a single bet, the person is an average middle class with a wife and baby and his annual income will be around 40K (max) then why on earth he decided to bet that big amount on a single bet. It's evident that his greed forced him to take such decision but as a result he lost the life and leaving the loved ones stranded. What's your take on this matter?

This is the problem with some gamblers ,why risk your entire life with your family, knowing fully that you are the bread winner and the only source of income.
The greed in him is too much, with an income of 40k, he ought not to gamble with such huge amount,no matter the circumstances. In gambling we need to be very careful because one the money is gone, it cannot be retrieved , therefore in gambling always have in mind that you could be the loser not everytime you win and if you know you can't withstand losing, there is no point playing the game,it is for the strong hearted, you don't gamble with the mindset of getting rich instantly,if not what has happened to this man will happen to you.
Now nobody forced him to gamble and the outcome is not favourable,he has just caused the family a bigger problem mainly the wife, how is she going to cope with the situation of assuming the head of the family, that's why it's good to gamble what you can afford to lose.

I completely agree, I don't understand why you need to risk your well-being, which is the only thing such a guy has. Life is valuable and you can always reconsider your priorities, learn something new.
But leaving a family without emotional, physical and financial support is the decision of a real weakling, who all this time for some unknown reason tried to achieve something in life.
