Chelsea has been in a weak position for the last three seasons. The players are failing to play well. There is no consistency in performance. In the 2022-23 season, Chelsea was in 12th place in the points table. In the 2023-24 season, the team was outside the top 10, but Chelsea was able to win consistently in the last few matches of the season. That is why Chelsea was in sixth place in the table.
Since Chelsea's performance was good at the end of the previous season, we thought that we would see regular performance from Chelsea from the beginning of this season. But at the beginning of this season, we have seen weak and irregular performance from Chelsea again.
It cannot be denied that Chelsea's performance has improved. However, their performance is not consistent. This is a big problem. The coach needs to work to make the team more stable.
In my own perspective, I think that the reason Chelsea are struggling and is inconsistent is because of the bad decisions making made by the current hierarchy of club, they may be short on certain areas of the team, or they might be lacking a quality attacker, instead of them to address that, they will eventually signed a winger to play as an attacker, or they will go and signed a kid that is an attacker, but is no ready to improve or support the team in anyway, like in the case as of now, instead of them to sign an attacker in this past January transfer window since Nicholas Jackson isn't scoring enough, they decide not to act by not signing anyone, instead they weaken the team by selling off some players that would have helped the team in one way or another, so till this present bad management is removed from Chelsea, we can never see the Chelsea of old that always compete for honours year in year out.
It's just three years if am not mistaken, gradually it might get to 5, 10 and even 20 years without a trophy if they continue in this manner at which they are going about with their business and performance.
