Honestly, I expected the match to not be an easy one, and seriously, the match was not really easy for Real Madrid despite their win. Leganes really played to my satisfaction because they were able to score two goals. The funny part is that these goals were equalizers, which I did not expect from them when Real Madrid first netted two goals. They were able to score again, making the final score 3-2 in favor of Real Madrid.
But honestly, Real Madrid really wasted a lot of chances. If not, they could have scored more than that. Just imagine if Mbappe was in the game many of those chances might have been converted into goals. Can you believe that Real Madrid made about 12 shots on goal but only managed to convert three into goals?But congratulations to them, because the main thing is to win the game.
Real Madrid tried though their defense was shaky and on two occasions their opponents found the net to equalize after Real Madrid got a two goal lead. Luckily for Madrid, they were able to get yet another goal towards the end of the match that gave they victory over Leganes. With this defense against a more stronger Laliga side they would have lost obviously.
Real Madrid won this important match of Copa del Rey, but before entering the field, I thought that Real Madrid would win against this opponent by a big margin.
A 3-2 win against CD Leganés confirmed that Real Madrid's defensive position is currently very fragile. Real Madrid would never have conceded two goals against this team if the defense wasn't so bad. Mainly because of injury problems, Real Madrid's defense has been messed up like this.
Now Real Madrid is not able to improve much in this defense position despite their best efforts. I think if the defense position is as before then this defense position will have a good effect on the whole position of the field.
For example, if the defense is good then the midfield will definitely do well and if the midfield is good then surely the strikers will do well and the strikers will work less and they will be able to score more goals.
