Gambling addiction depends only on the actions of each individual and not on where they gamble in a land-based casino or online. Online casinos provide a faster and more convenient form to fulfill one's needs. Whether a gambler will use this to reinforce their addiction is up to them.

In some countries people do not have the opportunity to gamble online and such people are more than 30% of the world's population, but some of them still become gambling addicts. So it's not about where we gamble, but whether we let our desires cloud our minds.
A gambler can get an addiction when he keeps gambling everyday without a stop when when they are making some losses. It is wise for a gambler to gamble once in a while to reduce and possibility of addiction. Addiction comes without the victim awareness and it becomes strong gradually. Most time addiction is cause by greediness of making huge amounts of money from betting. Betting supposed to be less frequent with risk management out together. When a gambler starts having the urge to make millions of dollars from betting with small amounts, then greed can follow making the person to have high confidence to make profits as soon as possible.
