I might have thought that Zimbabwe would take a much bigger lead against Ireland, but that was not possible in reality, instead Zimbabwe has held a 7-run lead so far. Andy McBrine and Mark Adair, in addition to their batting prowess, also performed well with their bowling, taking two and three wickets respectively. Almost all the batsmen in Zimbabwe tried to put in some performance but only one batsman, Nick Welch, played an innings of 90 runs. Muzarabani played an innings of 47 runs, meaning that Zimbabwe could not take such a big lead, as we might have thought, so the match will now be decided in the second innings.

Zimbabwe were 200/9 when Nick Welch got out for 90 (missing his maiden test ton). Then the last wicket partnership between Blessing Muzarabani and Trevor Gwandu added a massive 67 runs. And this may prove crucial in this match. Now the Zimbabweans have wrested back first innings lead, and Ireland will be under a lot of pressure. And in the second innings, Peter Moor is already back in pavilion. At the moment, Andy Balbirnie and Curtis Campher are at the crease and both of them are not in good form.
