First of all, I don't like discussing with people around me about my investment in Bitcoin. I prefer to stay anonymous than let people around me know that I am investing in Bitcoin.
A very good decision you have taken right there and everybody should do the same, discussing your investments portfolio with others does you no good. You're only fueling your hate form them and soon you'll become a target to evil doers in the world. People around us aren't meant to know what we're doing or into and when they ask, if you have something else that you can use to cover up that you're a Bitcoin investor, it is better to use that thing but when they come to learn and they know you're into crypto already, don't hesitate to teach them but don't disclose your wealth in the process to them or you'll be regretful when it backfire and you get into unnecessary problems because you told others about your wealth status.
At this point I see no reason why people should disclose what they do to people not just the crypto investors alone, firstly I know that every crypto investor is already in danger once people around him notice what such person is into but one funny thing about this thing is how far some people are willing to go just to know other people's sources of income it is very common in my area. Disclosing the amount of Bitcoin in one's wallet is already already a big trap to the investor because looking at your funds your worth is already visible and since the mindset of people is usually evil the best plan will be how to steal it from the owner to become rich.
