As a new beginner in the crypto market here are some few things you should do.

-select a well established exchange like bybit, coinbase and binance,to buy and sell and store your cryptocurrencies

Everything way you don try talk here go well except for one and that na watin I don quote for here.
If you Dey actually follow updates and some of the hacks way don happen for the cryptospace, you go find out say, na exchanges e Dey mostly happen to. Even if them no hack them cef, exchanges fit close or mismanage funds way Dey in their custody but again, chopping the ones way standout na one means to have an edge for this one.

On top of that, make nothing do you, you gon Dey too trusting in an exchange so tay, you con dey store large funds for their. The day e go cast, you no go know and na your coins Dey go be that. Not your keys, not your coins. Once you start to store coins for exchange, just know say, no be you really get am.

That na very good point wey you done highlight for the OP to take corrections, person fit buy crypto from exchanges as the  ones wey OP done mention that one dey sure but storing those cryptos there na one very big risk I no go advise people to take, since those exchange them dey prone to hackers, that na one big mistake wey many people done do out of ignorance and OP if you dey save for exchanges eh go make sense say make you take corrections now.

The best place to save crypto assets na for non-custodial wallets like Electrum, Metamask, Trezor one, Exodus etc or for hardware no even reason those wallets for exchanges like Binance, Okx and the rest they fit dey talk about good security but them no dey all that secured and hackers fit penetrate them unlike the non-custodial wallets wey I list out.
