Lakers already acquired Mark Williams from Hornets for Dalton Knecht
While Mark Williams could really fill the gap for AD but I am feeling that letting go of Dalton Knecht is not worth it for them. Well, what's done is done and he's going now to the Hornets and maybe he'd capitalize his talent there. And with all of these trades, look at PJ Tucker, he's traded and went to several teams within just 5 days.
We really don't know how good Dalton will be in the future, but the Lakers are willing to take that risk for now. So still a win win for them as they got a good big man and then who knows, maybe Dalton will thrive on other teams and take advantage of his shooting,
That makes sense. This is a gamble and risky trade for them but they are willing to make things right later on and test what will work for JJ as per Rob. I just can't help myself in believing on the kid because he's got the potential but maybe that's his destiny and he will be honed there after some years of being with them.
Yes, and we have seen teams taking the obvious risk, in the last five risk or so, but there was one team that might really go that far in taking risk, the Brooklyn Nets. KD, Harden, Irving and even took Ben Simmons. But it didn't fare good for them as we all know that their big three is gone and Ben Simmons are going to be in a buy out. But if you look at OKC, when they rebuild and trade KD and WB, now it's paying off with SGA, Chet and others that they have in the team, and since last year, they are very consistent in the top team in the West, they just have to get that needed experience. So as much as we can see a lot of potential on Dalton, we still don't know if he can be one of the best shooters in the league or if his career is going to prosper with the Lakers so Rob made the difficult decision to shift him to get Williams who already has some experience and numbers to show.
