Just when it looked like Canelo vs. Jake Paul would be a done deal, Turki Alalshikh has now announced that Canelo has signed a four fight deal with Riyadh Season. The Ring Magazine, which was recently acquired by the Saudis is saying that Jake Paul won’t be Canelo’s opponent in May. It will likely be an easy cherry picked opponent and then he will fight Terence Crawford in September.

Right, it's a four fight deal,

Fight in Riyadh in May
Big fight in Las Vegas vs Terence Crawford in September
Big fight in Riyadh in February 2026
Big fight in Riyadh in October 2026

So now we can only speculate as who will he be fighting in that following date. Crawford's name has surface, so that's one, maybe Jake Paul next year, or perhaps David Benavidez. That's already three, so we don't know the fighter that he will be facing this May though.

I like those 3 names that is possible for Canelo to fight under the Saudi banner now. And that's what we really wanted for him. We already have a thread about Canelo vs Crawford but it seems it is lock because obviously, it's not going to happen this May.

And then for next year, it's going to be also huge for him. I reckon that he will take the Benavidez fight, no matter what we thought that he is ducking him (including myself), and maybe his last fight will be Jake Paul for all the marbles and glory and obviously the biggest money fights that we will see.

After that, he could be thinking of retiring as he already amassed big fortunes.
