Lakers already acquired Mark Williams from Hornets for Dalton Knecht
While Mark Williams could really fill the gap for AD but I am feeling that letting go of Dalton Knecht is not worth it for them. Well, what's done is done and he's going now to the Hornets and maybe he'd capitalize his talent there. And with all of these trades, look at PJ Tucker, he's traded and went to several teams within just 5 days.

We really don't know how good Dalton will be in the future, but the Lakers are willing to take that risk for now. So still a win win for them as they got a good big man and then who knows, maybe Dalton will thrive on other teams and take advantage of his shooting,
That makes sense. This is a gamble and risky trade for them but they are willing to make things right later on and test what will work for JJ as per Rob. I just can't help myself in believing on the kid because he's got the potential but maybe that's his destiny and he will be honed there after some years of being with them.
And for what it's worth for, Williams, who is averaging 16.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game. So that is a huge contribution if he can have this numbers in the Lakers uniform. It is also reported that Rob consulted with Luka about this trade and he was 100% down with that.
As per the report, Luka wanted a big men, like what he had in the Dallas uniform that he can ally-oop pass in Gafford and Lively. So expect the same plays that will screen for Luka and then that pass for a easy dunk.
Luka just got traded to the team, no offense but i dont think the GM called luka up to see if it was ok if he coukd make a trade for mark williams. Everyone knows the lakers were shopping for a big man. Williams just happened to be that guy. Lakers are taking a stab with a center who sits as much as he plays. Healthy its a great pickup. But big guys with injury comcerns typically never end up getting better through the years.
