Online gambling provides comfort, accessibility, and anonymity, which can entice a gambler into gambling unnecessarily, resulting in addiction. A gambler can easily fund his betting account, and as a result, such a gambler is likely to spend a significant amount of time gambling, gradually developing an addiction that is difficult to overcome because we are what we do constantly.
It's true that online casino gives gamblers the advantage of comfort and easy accessibility but speaking of anonymity, there are no many online casino that has that anonymity features. Many of the online  casinos you see out there are fully regulated.
That comfort and accessibility when abused turns pit detrimental to the gambler and obviously his pocket. The only time the gambler gets advantage is with the fact that they get to gamble at anytime in almost anywhere,  but uncontrolled usage of this advantage can actually lead to addiction in some cases especially when it's abused,  so yes we can say it can lead to addiction especially when abused.
