Honestly, I am relieved that we don't have to migrate to a new forum software. No such migrations are hassle-free and would surely be accompanied with bugs and various types of errors. I also don't mind the way the forum looks. This is how I look at it: If people don't like forums in general, Epochtalk won't change their mind. They will still not like forums, the forum culture, and the way we communicate here.
One of the biggest issues Bitcointalk has is not being friendly for mobile users. Epochtalk could perhaps have fixed some problems that phone users are facing but not all of them. We use various bb codes, quotes, and multiquotes when communicating here, and that will always remain a nightmare when clicking on your phone's screen.
One feature we could introduce is a chat option. Why not? There should be strict rules for it and the main communication must take place on the forum itself. The chat could be a secondary quick-form off-topic option. It might draw in some new users who are fans of quicker ways of communicating.
