Manchester United is aiming at winning the trophy so that they can automatically get a ticket to UCL, and to achieve this goal, United have been performing pretty good in this competition, despite the challenges that they are having in EPL. Tottenham is also in the same shoes with United but United current performance looks more promising to win the league than Tottenham, because Amorin is still building the team, and we might see a sudden change in their performance.
This actually a strategy Manchester United literally wants to explore just like Atalanta did last season and they were able to get the best off it last seeason and now this season they are opportune to play in the prestigious champions league where they are trying to probably get some experience in that aspect but then they cannot be regarded as a top contender for the Champions League title. So Manchester unit should see this as their opportunity and make sure to possibly get this as it will add to their confidence at the end of the season moving into the next season.
Last season, Manchester United finished the English Premier League campaign in the 8th position of the league table -a position that doesn't guarantee European football but went on to beat Manchester City in the English FA Cup final to win the trophy and automatically qualify to play in the UEFA Europa League competition this season. Now, you guys are saying that they might likely win the Europa League trophy this season to be guaranteed the opportunity of participating in the UEFA Champions League competition next season.
That strategy I don't think will work for them this time my reason of saying so is that the Europa League this season comprises of teams that I think will get the better of Manchester United when they meet the knockout stages. I strongly doubt that Manchester United will be able to win the an European trophy this season so if they fail to finish their league campaign in a position that guarantees European football next season, they're very likely not to play in Europe next season
