Adana Demirspor players left the pitch in their Turkish Super Lig game at Galatasaray today in protest against a penalty that were awarded to the home team. It was later that the club president issued a statement saying that the players didn't leave the pitch to protest against Galatasaray but against the referee board. The visitors who currently occupy the bottom position in the league went behind when Alvaro Morata scored a penalty in the 12 minute of the game but continued playing until when the club manager signalled to them to leave the pitch.
The ball is now in the court of the Turkish football FA to address the issue and punish any party that deserves to be punished.
That was really unprofessional of Adana Demirspor players to leave the pitch while a game was ongoing, this is not the first time that a referee will make a wrong decision and give a goal or a penalty wrongly. It has happened countless times in football and it happens in different leagues as well so if the decision is not in your favour then all you have to do is take heart and accept the decision because no one is perfect and even the referee’s are bound to make mistakes. The VAR should have intervened if it was a wrong decision.
With the kind of pressure mounted on Adana Demirspor in the early minutes of the match even without penalty I am sure Galatasaray will definitely win the game.
I'm not from Turkey and I haven't been able to watch all the Turkish league games, but I find it very strange the large number of penalties that have benefited Galatasaray, I could be wrong, but it's not normal for a team to win so many penalties, I agree that Galatasaray has a very strong squad and they are a very strong team.
I am a follower of the the Turkish league and I have seen how good Galatasaray have performed since the start of the season and with or without penalties they can actually still win games because to me I think they have the best squad and performance. I don’t really think many of those penalties won are controversial at all but their will always be critics when a team is doing so much better and dominates the league.
