Most times, football is all about mentality. I saw that even though Real Madrid was losing, they showed alot of winning mentality and could not stop pressing while Manchester city who started pressing early enough was not able to maintain the tempo till the end. Champions league is not about the best playing team but the best fighters who are able and willing to fight till the end. I am not sure that Manchester City will be able to win in the return leg. Guardiola and his boys might totally lose out in this season.
Man City, who were out of form from the start in the Champions League, played well against Real Madrid, but they could not maintain their performance in the last minute of the match. Real, who were psychologically ahead, showed their consistent performance and won. Yes, they were under pressure in the match but were able to overcome it. I think City's players played well according to Guardiola's strategy and tried hard to get a win to go to the last sixteen of the Champions League but Madrid's great confidence and excellent attacking play led them to win. In the last minute of the match substitute Brahim equalized and Bellingham scored the last goal which the fans in the gallery and those who had placed bets started cheering.
