I wonder if his salary was reduced, I think so. After all, his age is very serious. On the other hand, Barcelona has no choice because if Lewandowski leaves, Barcelona will only be able to sign a free agent (who will still have to pay a signing bonus) and there has long been a shortage of such among top strikers.
Lewandowski has good statistics, but last season he led the team in missed scoring chances, I don’t think there have been any radical changes this season.
I'm not sure his salary is reduced, moreover, the salary issue is clearly written in the contract point. As long as the contract has not expired, Barcelona cannot reduce his salary unilaterally, unless Lewandowski agrees to the policy.
Lewandowski is still able to maintain his performance even though he is old, he is still Hansi Flick's mainstay in terms of scoring goals, maybe after his contract expires, he will be released as a free transfer player because the club also needs younger and quality players in the front line.
Lewandowski has an extraordinary commitment at Barcelona so it is not surprising that Barcelona have no difficulty in extending his contract, although he is no longer young but as a striker he has shown extraordinary ability in helping the team so far, a one-year contract extension for older players is not something surprising and in fact it is also done by other teams besides Barcelona at this time,  Retaining Lewandowski is the right step for Barcelona, especially since he has never demanded a salary increase and looks as if he doesn't care about money, although in fact in recent seasons he has continued to get offers from the Arab team and instead prefers to stay at Barcelona.
