To my opinion there's no thing you go into without having knowledge to go about it.for crypto without having knowledge about it you are no where to be found. Knowledge is not enough bit knowledge is the key.
Having knowledge about what you want is important if you are privileged enough to get that knowledge even before going into that thing you want; it appears to be an added advantage. I'm not talking about knowledge you get only by reading about that thing. I'm talking about the practical knowledge that comes with practicing and experiencing that thing that you want to go into.
