Gambling is not the only thing that makes people addicted, those people who crossed you may also one day become addicted to alcohol and drugs and ask you for help. In a world like the current one we cannot afford to fight with other people and distance ourselves from them because one day we may need help too.
Just look at articles that talk about people who were rich and became poor.
That's the thing, people didn't cross me, but I let them down by not being able to return the money I borrowed from them on time. They lost trust in me, and that's the most important thing in our lives. That's what happened. I still can't forgive myself for it. I let down people who were counting on me. Yes, mistakes like these change the entire course of life. Now there are no opportunities like there were before.
Yes, there are a lot of dependencies in this life. Even tea causes a strong habit of drinking it daily and several times a day.
A motivational speaker I once listened to said, "when there are no opportunities, you create one". It's simple to say (I believe) but not simple to do, but I also believe that with the right mindset and determination, everything good we can think of is achieveable.
You used the word "cross" in the first line of your comment, same with the other user you quoted, I was thinking this was a typo, and the right word you guys meant to use was "trust" or "trusted", anyways, that's by the way, just felt I should point that out just incase it was a typo.
And coming back to what is being discuss, indeed, there are alot of things alot of people get addicted to, and to be honest with you, I feel there are very little number of people in the world who are not addicted to one thing or another, and most of this things destroy life and destinies, but around here, we have made addiction to gambling look like it's the worst form of addiction.
