Atalanta got robbed with the penalty lol.
To me it doesn't looks like a penalty at all.
What do you think about?

Its time to give teams 2 calls per game to the VAR

The good point is that we don't need to wait too much time for the second leg.
It will be played next week
Putting such a controversial penalty in the final minutes is a very strange decision. Two players fought and the Atalanta player almost did not touch the Brugge player, but he fell to the ground as if an asteroid hit him.
In general, the refereeing was very strange not only in this match, but also in the Monaco-Benfica match, when the Benfica player got two red cards, begged for yellow cards, but in the end the referee removed the Monaco player, who simply showed a gesture that the Benfica player should be shown a yellow card and was immediately removed from the field.
In current era of VAR and many other things which are helping referees still decisions like these making things really disrespectful this game players surely acting like jokers which are not acceptable, but it looks like solutions are not enough and need some more advance things which make decisions clear for all stakeholders.

UEFA is surely one of the elite leagues with doing good job in all aspects, but sadly they also fail in this issue which is recently had enough controversies this last minute penalty which was not on cards have bad impact on few things even Atlanta is still capable of overthrow this and beat Brugge at home with comprehensive margin which will allow them to have spot into next round as they are good and strong team.
VAR was supposed to make the game more understandable and predictable and it turned out that now the referee can essentially turn the game by his decision and in the same situations referees make very often different decisions and now it is not clear whether there are uniform rules for all or not. After the introduction of VAR referees seem to have become even less objective than before.

Atalanta did not deserve to lose and a draw would have been a logical result, but the controversial penalty spoiled everything and now Atalanta need to win the next match at any cost with a 2 goal advantage.
