One of the toughest hurdles for blockchain gaming is onboarding. Most traditional gamers don’t want to set up a wallet, buy crypto, or pay gas fees just to play a game. This friction keeps Web3 gaming niche instead of mainstream.
What does blockchain gaming have to do with setting up wallets or paying gas fees? You are just talking about any game that wants to use crypto as an in game payment method. So calling it a blockchain game is turning people off for no reason.
A blockchain game would (independent of the payment used) have it's important data stored on a blockchain, shared by the players. A blockchain game may want to reward your character for the number of times you have done a certain task - which it can do uncheatably via the blockchain.
A regular game using a blockchain payment system is no less corrupt than a regular game - the owner can still modify the centralized database to satisfy the reward requirements.
Do you see the point I am trying to make? A blockchain represents accountability and fairness. Stamping any game as blockchain enabled just makes people aware it's irreversible currency and will probably be taken from them. :/
